What is Dentistry?

Dentistry is the "assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment (nonsurgical, surgical procedures) of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and the adjacent and related structures and their impact on human body. " Dentistry is necessary for a full oral health. Those in the practice of dentistry are known as dentists. Helping other people's oral health includes dental assistants, dental hygienists, dentists and dental therapists.
